In aircraft manufacturing, the building has to keep pace with the work inside it.
For this 41,238-square-foot facility completed in August 2016, Crossland Construction Corp., a Varco Pruden™ Builder, developed a solution that brings together production, office space and aircraft access within a single, coordinated environment.
The layout places manufacturing at the center, with office functions positioned along the perimeter for visibility and accessibility. This arrangement keeps teams connected while maintaining clear separation between administrative and production areas.
Large hangar doors along the exterior walls allow aircraft components to move efficiently in and out of the building, supporting production flow without interruption.
Inside the manufacturing space, a one-ton crane is integrated into the building’s structure, allowing materials and components to be handled directly within the workflow. This reduces reliance on additional equipment and keeps operations moving efficiently.
Above, a 3,000-square-foot mezzanine adds another layer of functionality. The cantilevered conference room and office space provide areas for planning and collaboration without taking up valuable floor space below.
The building envelope combines RPR™ wall panels with cement-fiber panels, creating a durable exterior while allowing for variation in appearance. Storefront windows at the front of the building bring natural light into the office area, while a tube steel canopy with louvers provides shading and defines the entry.
The SSR™ Roof System supports long-term performance, helping protect the building while accommodating the demands of a manufacturing environment.
The result is a facility that keeps operations connected, efficient and ready to adapt as production evolves.
