Durable Performance
Engineered through collaborative design processes that help buildings perform reliably under demanding operational conditions.
Designing a recycling process center required accommodating heavy equipment loads while ensuring safety and operational flow. The building needed to support complex systems without limiting future adjustments.
Through coordinated structural design and integrated systems, the team delivered a facility that supports equipment demands and daily operations. The result is a durable environment that enables efficient processing while maintaining long-term flexibility.

Well-coordinated building solutions support operational efficiency, productivity and long-term business growth.
Builders, architects and VP teams work early to improve constructability, coordination and confidence throughout the project process.
Friedman Recycle Center
In a recycling facility, the building doesn’t just house operations, it becomes part of the process.
For this 88,234-square-foot recycling center completed in May 2013, GarVin Construction, Inc., a Varco Pruden™ Builder, worked to create a structure that could support the demands of heavy processing equipment while maintaining a clear and efficient layout.
The building combines rigid frame and Continuous Beam systems to provide open interior space while accommodating a range of point loads from suspended and mounted equipment. These loads were a key consideration, requiring coordination early in the design process to ensure that structural elements aligned with operational needs.
Inside, the layout is organized to protect both equipment and workflow.
An extensive fire suppression system is integrated throughout the facility, supporting safety in an environment where materials and processes require additional protection. Structural systems and building components were coordinated to allow these systems to function without interfering with operations.
A front office lean-to provides space for administrative functions, keeping oversight close to the processing floor without interrupting production. Outside, an elevated observation platform offers a clear view into operations, supporting monitoring and site management.
The SSR™ Roof System and Panel Rib™ wall and roof systems provide a durable enclosure, protecting equipment and processes from external conditions while maintaining long-term performance.
The result is a building that does more than contain the work, it supports it, adapting to the demands placed on it every day.
