Elevate Life Church

A growing congregation needed a facility that could support worship, education and community gatherings within one cohesive space. The solution delivered a flexible building that balances architectural presence with functional performance for daily and weekly use.

Project Overview

Designing a church facility required balancing large gathering spaces with classrooms and support areas, all within a cohesive structure. The challenge was integrating varied functions while maintaining efficiency and architectural clarity.

Through coordinated design and flexible framing systems, the team delivered a building that supports worship and community use. The result is a space that adapts to different needs while maintaining a consistent identity.

Elevate Life Church

Shaping space for gathering

A church building must do more than hold people. It must support how they come together.

For Elevate Life Church in Jacksonville, FL, that meant creating a space that could accommodate large worship gatherings while also supporting classrooms, smaller meetings and daily activity. Each function needed its own space, but none could feel disconnected from the whole.

Working with Harrell Construction Co., Inc., a Varco Pruden™ Builder, and Equip Studio Inc., the project team developed a 27,820-square-foot facility designed to bring those needs together through a coordinated structural approach.

Rigid frame and Continuous Beam systems were used to create open interior areas while allowing for variation across the building. Multiple eave heights, roof extensions and canopy elements help define different zones within the structure without relying on separation alone.

Flexibility in form and function

Inside, the building supports a range of uses, from a central worship space to classrooms and support areas. A 2,000-square-foot mechanical mezzanine allows building systems to be integrated efficiently, keeping primary spaces open and unobstructed.

The roof system, built with the SSR™ Roof System, provides durability and long-term performance while supporting the building’s varied geometry. Insulation systems help maintain interior comfort throughout changing conditions.

At the exterior, ThermaClad™ wall panels and insulated metal panels create a consistent envelope while allowing variation in texture and tone. This approach gives the building definition without adding unnecessary complexity.

Large storefront windows bring natural light into key areas, supporting visibility and creating a more open atmosphere for occupants. Entry canopies mark transitions into the building, offering protection and a clear sense of arrival.

The design reflects a balance, structured where it needs to be, flexible where it benefits use.

Completed in 2016, the facility supports both weekly services and ongoing community activity.

For the project team, the outcome is straightforward: a building that brings people together while supporting the ways they gather, learn and connect.
