This building is used for hockey for youths in the Casco Bay Hockey group. In order to provide an ice rink but keep operating costs down, some walls were left open allowing Maine’s naturally cold temperatures during the winter to maintain the ice rink only using an ice chiller as a secondary source.

Four roof mounted exhaust fans, as well as ridge vents down the center of the structure’s roof were installed eliminating the possibility of air being trapped and causing condensation. A cover for equipment in the building and a warm area for the Zamboni, spectators and locker rooms were created in close proximity to the ice. The exterior of the building features metal wall panels as well as brick.
