This 40,950 square-foot center was built to replace the old structures, which were damaged by years of salt sea air. Since the building was located so close to the ocean, all of the frames and secondary members were hot-dipped galvanized, and then painted to provide protection from the corrosive salt spray environment. VP’s Rigid Frame systems were used in the construction of the facility, which allows ideal flexibility in interior space utilization. The new livestock center accommodates approximately 500 animals during the Ventura County Fair. The center’s appearance adds a country look to the fairgrounds and offers exhibitors the facilities they need to present their animals in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. The livestock center is used for the annual Ventura County Fair Jr. Livestock Program and for livestock shows throughout the year.
